Alvilda Rodríguez Carmona hails from Utuado, PR, yet her family relocated to Jayuya, PR during her early years. She earned a Social Work degree from the Universidad Católica in Ponce, PR, and also trained in Cosmetology, which has become her enduring profession throughout her life. Since a young age, she has been drawn to creating and designing clothing.
Finding her voice
In the 1990s, she took her first steps into painting. During a visit to Chicago, she enrolled in lessons under Maritza Echevaria de Bermudez — classes that became a wellspring of inspiration for many of the artworks shown on this site. She continues that education with Maritza today, alongside classes at the Naperville Art League, and her work has been evaluated by esteemed art professor Daisy Morales. Where she once drew from magazine pictures, she now dedicates herself to crafting original pieces.

Family, above all
As a proud mother, she has raised four sons and today delights in nine grandchildren.

Alongside her late husband, Miguel, she showed unwavering determination and entrepreneurial spirit, running businesses together while passing on invaluable life lessons — guidance that helped all four of their sons grow into productive, exceptional contributors to society.
Yet for all she has created, her most significant work remains her role as a mother.
